I must confess that the choice of a deity - given that everyone starts with a level playing field, is of interest.

For whatever reasons, Christians select their god as being 'the' god, and then spend their lives disbelieving all other gods, and the notion that their is no god.

But since this is purely a matter of individual choice, what makes a choice of the biblical god any more or less valid than any of the others?

I know that like me you don't have to worry about this conundrum, but I would welcome anyone's thoughts on the matter.

AH, I don’t believe most people make a choice. I think they generally stick with what they know, eg if you’re born here to English parents you’ll be raised in a Christian society. Born in Pakistan you’ll be raised in a Muslim society. Born in Salt Lake City there's a chance you could be Mormon - India, Hindu or Buddhist. I think, in the main, geography dictates religion - and most people never bother to change.

Spirituality is an appreciation of nature and of the universe, it's altruism - the genuine version - the innate version - rather than the kind designed to impress - genuine concern for humanity - love. That’s spirituality. Your only concern appears to be for yourself - to save your sorry, tormented soul from the inevitable - death.

/Because God's natural spirituality run in man. because real and true Believers cannot stop talking about their creator and the spirit runs through them.
It was foretold how GOD people in today world - continue to worship GOD in spite of decrees made by communist dictators or any other s against worship of GOD . They know that to be hated is nothing new because the master {Jesus } was hated and brought to the ruler -and put to death .--in 1938/9 /40 Nazis Germany- they tried to wiped out true Christians who believed in their GOD . Just like Daniel in the lions den . and yes a lot did die to keep their integrity to their creator .and. YES. for them it was true worship .the general attitude and understanding relative to GOD kingdom {paradise } is indeed very confusing - it is something abstract.- just like GOD .

Your post infers that Christians had some sort of choice about dying for their God, and that they made the noble decision.

The reality is nothing of the kind - they were gassed by the Nazis who also professed to be Christians (like you in fact) so I'm not sure where your point is.

Oh, and don't forget six millions Jews, they were not Christians, but then, they weren't gassed because of their faith either, but don't let a few historical realities cloud your rainbow vision of the world.
