//The song known as both "Gospel Boogie" and "A Wonderful Time Up There" was written by Lee Roy Abernathy, and first recorded by him in 1947 under the former name. This release, for the label White Church Record, credits the performance with variant spelling to "Leroy Abernathy Homeland Harmony Quartet".//

What does it mean for you, Sparkly? Is it just a pleasant song, or does it have memories attached?
Question Author
Just like the upbeat tempo.

Cannot remember when I first heard it.
It was recorded, by Pat Boone, in 1958, so you must have heard it some time after that, Sparkly. It's one of those songs/tunes that you've always known, but can't remember the first time you heard it.

Bit like Running Bear by Johnny Preston I think.

I remember 1958, I was a teenager for the 1st time.

One of my favourites, too.
I liked Johnny Cash's version
I'm sure this song was in a film with a nutty reverend.
As an atheist, I've never been too keen on anything which fits (however loosely) into the category of 'gospel music'.

My own favourite up-beat oldie has to be this ;-)
