Theland, let's get one thing straight, I don't feel threatened by you or any of the people like you. You wrote this and that's what concerns me.
\\If there is at least one who has some nervousness about dying, why should I not offer them comfort?//
Have you ever thought that your so called words of comfort could actually terrify somebody who is already afraid of dying? No, I don't suppose you have, the arrogance is never ending. You're telling them what's going to happen and yet there is not one iota of proof of what you're saying. Earlier in this thread you said something about accepting Jesus into our lives and then offered the alternative of going to hell if we didn't.
I've known a lot of people like you and they do exactly the same, if I don't accept what they say then I will go to hell. I used to work with somebody, just like you, always telling people they were going to hell. Like you he had double standards, when my wife was dying he told me Prayer was the only answer and yet two years later when his Mother in law was dying, he took her to every doctor, specialist, quack, etc he could think of. He even considered Lourdes until he discovered the cost but like a lot of religious people the last part to be converted was his hip pocket and he refused to spend the money. Like you, he hated Roman Catholicism, until he thought it could help him.
Like you, he also ignores parts of the bible that doesn't suit him, in this case it was the eighth commandment and he stole from his employer. Out of work and now unemployable he persuaded his wife to open a creche which she did. Unfortunately it was just a front for his nefarious actions, last December he started a lengthy prison sentence for child sexual abuse. It's people like him who helped to turn me from religion, your attitude on this site won't have me rushing back either but I suppose you couldn't care less about that. Oh, by the way, it was reported that this chap told the judge he'll go to hell when sentenced but I can't verify that, not that will bother you very much, you don't believe in verification of facts.
