Oh thank you Hans.
That has really improved my self confidence.
Shall I make another appointment with you?
Theland...You have asked...."Shall I make another appointment with you? "

I don't think you have ever had an appointment with me. However, if you would wish to have one, I am sure it can be arranged for an agreed fee.

Hans.

Hans, when I'm on your trick cyclists couch, I shall speak from the heart, and truthfully tell you how strongly I believe in God, and hope you will at least consider it all.
How about

Your child has died
Hands up! This is an armed raid
Fasten your seatbelts, the plane has gone in to free fall
You are under arrest (in Saudi Arabia)
I'm sorry, but it's terminal
This country is now at war
I want a divorce
You have Alzheimer's
Abandon ship!
The brakes have failed! I can't stop!

My 'wading through treacle' comment was to Mozz, it was an attempt to stop him from trying to fathom the reasoning behind the meaning in the OP.

It most certainly was not posted for anyone's appreciation.
Thank you for clarifying that.
Strange advice Mamyalyne. I would have thought that, if wishing to understand any posting, it is reasonable to try establishing what it really means.

Hans.
Feel free to advise Mozz as you see fit Hans, like Naomi I felt he was somewhat awry in his musings.

Sometimes unravelling what is on here is more akin to knitting fog.

Well said Mamya, I often get told my posts are a bit like that :-)
is this the thread people were squawking about being unable to understand sentences of more than 3 words?

judgement: what about this: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

see = = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Judgment#Christianity
and PP alert!
very many sentences of more than three words so I rate it as a Hard Read.....

Have fun !
New T as wading froo treacle
oh well - you learn a thing a day - - OK Romans is hard to translate ....
Oh for Pete's sake...

Look, Theland posted absolute drivel in his original post, which I misinterpreted, I still contest, I understandably misinterpreted given the writer.

That's it, out of the three people who responded, I only find myself listening to the advice of one of them, as the other two I consider to be at odds (albeit at opposite ends) with my personal worldview (I'll leave you all to decide who and where, but it isn't tough).

The lesson I have learnt, is to ignore Theland's religious threads in future. His inane ramblings don't hold up to any scrutiny and trying to find any meaning in his words, hidden or otherwise, is utter folly.

If, as it seems, I was wrong here, I have already apologised and moved on, I recomment that everyone else should consider doing the same.
It was a very odd initial statement, the later 'clarification' wasn't particularly elucidatory or helpful. I still don't understand who it was aimed at, or why!
Question Author
Never - It is meaningless to atheists, but believers should take note.
Believers? Yes, like the hierarchy of the churches. Full of platitudes and deceit.
Theland - // Full of platitudes and deceit. //

They're in good company then.
Question Author
Mozz - would it make you happy if Religion and Spirituality was comprised solely of atheists telling each other how they didn't believe in God, and competing for the best form of unbelief?
very few scary comments on God is Good
on this batch of 20

at least it isnt an end of times thread
Thanks, Theland. And why (in italics) are these the scariest words believers will ever hear? Why have they to take note?

PS It would have been so much easier if you'd had a correct title, The Scariest Words Believers Will Ever Hear. I'd still have been curious, but the OP would have been irrelevant to me personally.
I was in the fire brigade in the early 80s and one training night the phone wrung in the Fire Station, it was put on loud speaker. I cant remember the exact words but it was the official 4 minute warning of a nuclear attack! only after hearing it were we told it was a part of our training for that evening. I can tell you now, the whole station went silent, it was actually quite terrifying especially having a very young wife and family at that time.
A fair point.

I did think it was Theland's acknowldged Islamophobia having an airing, but it appears not.

It may be aimed at Christians on here, who apart from the fervents, and a couple of others, fail to support their tub-thumping representative, or the atheists, who dismiss it as the nonsense it is, or the majority, who simply ignore it.

Anyway, it fails to score a meaningful point for anyone - again ...
