So. Many stories of supernatural phenomena are apparent on Answerbank.
So, keeping an open mind, and helping each other understand, let's try and discuss this really interesting subject.
My Christianity, your atheism but belief in, ''something unexplained.''
Surely something to investigate together?

My theory denies the existence of ghosts as spirit beings , as nothing more alive than a picture in a book. I suggest the manifestations of old energy are real but not evidence of any form of afterlife. Believe me, I doubt anyone wishes there was an afterlife and a chance of reunion more than me.

Theland //and its not good enough to simply say don't know.//

It perfectly good enough, if it's the truth. Why pretend we know, if we don't? What's the advantage?
Naomi at 23.11. Good point - I'll slide that into the next conversation I have that tends that way, thanks.
Have I got this right....
Naomi was using a biblical story to prove the existence of Ghosts?
No, you haven't got that right.
Jourdain, you're welcome. Just a thought. ;o)
18% of Americans believe they've seen a ghost and three thirds of them were mistaken.

Science of the mind. Conclusive.
If there are such things as ghosts, how come they have clothes on?
And how come they can walk through walls, but don't fall through floors?
Pixie, best not to ask about stuff like that; it's probably all something to do with energy or vibes (or even the number of glasses of water they drink).
Then explain how I got it wrong, Naomi.
@ Jourdain 22:14 yesterday. U say as a christian you shouldn't believe in ghosts ...well for me I'm a christian and I DO believe in "ghosts". I used inverted comma's because I don't believe ghosts are returned dead people! Not at all. but that there are too many sightings for there not to be something in it, (I won't go on again about what 3 things I think might be the cause cos I did say that yday and im sure no one wants me to repeat myself ....again...or again...or again!
@Naomi 23:11 Yesterday (Wed) when you mention Moses and Elijah ....well ...Elijah never died and although the bible refers to his death it also says some other odd things...like no man ever knowing his burial place, satan trying to claim his death, and the archangel claiming it instead....(don't get me started lol cos im no theologian) So maybe he didn't die either?

there is 2 possibilities in my mind as to how they may have been seen at the transfiguration: 1) that it was that Cellular memory thing (again I know im not using the right terminology to explain that). or
2) that they were taken up by aliens...after all some of what the bible refers to may well be alien visitations (and btw that isn't contrary to my christian beliefs....who says God didn't make other civilisations etc...what would make us the only creations of his that were so special? ... (ok now I've really confirmed to you all that im bonkers... I'm not I assure you....well not really!)
and no I've never seen a flying saucer etc etc etc. nor have I ever been beamed up on board. But who is to say these things aren't created by God ? How would we humans really know? We know so little really
Eve, // But who is to say these things aren't created by God ?//

Who's to say that God wasn't the captain of one of them?

Its wrong to say,''God exists.''
Quite simply, God IS.
The fact is that we had a ghost. That's it. No doubt. No ***. Can't even try to explain. It happened.
And there’s the rub. People adamant that they’ve witnessed a ghost. But no evidence.

I think the concept of ghosts has been around for millennia, but there’s zero proof. That must say something about the human psyche.
Naomi, Theland. I have learned a few things about Christianity in my lifetime. One of my favorites and I'm paraphrasing, is that I do not try to understand in order to believe. I believe so that I might understand.
That makes no sense whatsoever.
It is not true to say that Christians are taught not to believe in ghosts. What they are taught is not to communicate with them, which implies their existence.
