From medicine to bombs.
But asking questions is in our DNA and our curiosity about our origins is no exception.
Sadly, this where emotions come into play, and there is no place for that in a serious investigation.
But the mere mention of a Creator of all things brings out the emotion, and muddies the waters that obscure the truth.

Only a couple of millenia ago, the Greeks & Romans had THEIR Gods.
The Ancient Egyptions had THEIR Gods. The Vickings had THEIR Gods.
Zoroasrians & Mithra had THEIR God.
And the list goes on....
Then along came the New Age with 'Archytypes' (Carl Jung), aliens, past life regression and other guff.

Or if it be a human being. Get over it? I think we ought to value and respect life, whether human or not. I don't regard animals (other than human animals) as creatures given to us by god for our amusement and nourishment.
