"He Is Risen!"

Very odd - not seen Him on any of the news channels.
Naomi @ 11:59
God is a stickler for law.
When mankind disobeyed Him, Satan gained sovereignty over the world with the advent of sin and death.
Gods plan for our redemption defeated sin and death and defeated Satan, whose ultimate destruction is assured, but is still playing out his plans on the world stage.
The Devil you say!
No God / No Devil / No problem!
Theland - // God is a stickler for law.

Gods plan for our redemption defeated sin and death and defeated Satan, whose ultimate destruction is assured, but is still playing out his plans on the world stage. //

The same point naomi has raised, and I have alos raised - both of us several times - is that, if God is as all-powerful as you would have us believe, he has no need to tolerate disobedience from his creations, including Satan, he can simply blink, and everything is how he wants it, obedience from man, no devil, all sorted.

If he is so all-powerful, why is his 'plan' taking more than that blink - he can do anything he wants, so why is he hanging around letting man go astray, and so on and so forth?
//Gods plan for our redemption defeated sin and death and defeated Satan//
Only it didn't did it?

Why would God have to redeem us anyway from a creature (Satan) of his own making?
To save us from a hell of his own making?
Why redeem?
What does that even mean?
Defeated death? WHAT? People still die.
Sin? Why not just forgive? I dont have to sacrifice my son because someone 'sinned' against me, I simply forgive (Or not, as the case may be)

The answer to Nailit and Andy requires more than a post or two to be comprehensive.
A short answer doesn't begin to address the issues.
God abides by and respects His own laws, and that is key to fully understanding His plans.
This whole idea that something (God) has to kill itself (or its son,it's not clear) to save its own creation from another part of its creation (Satan / Sin, its not clear) in order to save it from a hell that itself created because it (an all omnipotent being) cannot simply forgive without shedding blood is both grotesque and ridiculous.
(And archaic)
//A short answer doesn't begin to address the issues//
And neither would a long one.
(even if you could provide one)
Theland - you have no answer as to why your god is selective with his omnipotence, easy to create a universe, a planet, a hell, a devil and mankind to bow down, but he appears to struggle with controlling any of it.
We are back to free will.
God gave us free choice to obey His laws or not.
That requires law.
It all stems from that.
But theres this created being that he just cant defeat
(or he has done...its not clear)
He defeated him at Calvary.
(but he's still around causing havoc)
An Omnipotent Being is at war with a creation that is little more than an ant and yet he's at war???
WAR???
Seriously??

//We are back to free will//
No we are not.
Stop moving the goalposts.
Krishna gave us all freewill to obey his laws as well.
AND???
There you go Theland, there is a simple explanation after all, the old standby 'free will's card.

It is simple, it's also an explanation Christian's come up with to answer awkward questions like mine.

You believe it, I don't - stalemate.
What are laws? Are they arbitrary commands that we must obey without question? Suppose you are told to obey a law which seems morally abhorrent to you. Would you not feel entitled to question it? Perhaps ask the lawgiver to explain a bit? Or do you simply 'obey orders'?
I think a bit of natural innate self-respect is in order.
Now you are just being argumentative.
Atheist, God is the lawmaker and the final arbiter of morals.
Theland - only if he exists, and we don't know that, do we ...

Ah yes Andy. The big question for you.
I believe in God because of evidence, b!Ind faith is just nonsense.
But trying to convey my thoughts on this are so difficult to people whose minds are already made up.
The evidence is there for you too.
I'm answering questions here and responding to opinions, not preaching a gospel message, as most folk here a!ready know it ....... and reject it.
