Do You Prefer Fact Or Fiction?

After 55 years on this earth I prefer fact.
As much as it pains me, as much as it upsets me, I prefer facts over faith.
A few weeks ago I was nearly suicidal. Still prefer facts to 'faith'. If I had ended my life then, I would have been dead, end off, no atheist in foxhole here.
Just dont understand this religious preoccupation with living forever....
I honesty just dont get it?
What the hell are you going to to FOREVER?
It would be like watching a game of football that went on forever...there wouldnt be a point,

I used to be a pentecostal too!
As tough as life can be, so glad that I found my way out of that belief system and accept life for what it is...
Flawed, harsh, unforgiving at time, nasty & red in tooth and claw.
But also the only life that I have.
Up to me to make the most of it.
If theres life after death, then I have to wonder why the hell we have to die in the first place???
Does a pet live after its died?
A virus?
An amoeba?
A farm animal?
An animal that we have ate?
A cabbage?

I think you approach the whole question of God from the wrong angle.
You criticise and decide, as if you had a choice. You don't.
If God exists you will stand before Him one day, regardless of how much kicking a screaming you do.
Don't say, ''I don't know,'' when it comes to the Creator of the universe.
Of course there was a Creator, it didn't create itself. Neither did lifeless chemicals begin to breathe on their own.
Get used to the idea of a Supreme Being, a Creator, a Life Giver and Sustainer.
Criticise Him all you like, He is not going away.
You criticise and decide, as if you had a choice. You don't.
If God exists you will stand before Him one day, regardless of how much kicking a screaming you do.

Try substituting 'God' (or at least YOUR version of God) for Krishna...or any one of a thousand gods dreamed up by mankind...and you just might have an idea of why I think the God of the Bible is just another story (threat)

You paint such a lovely picture of God that you might have made a convert.
You often refer to the first cause as proving the existence of God. Even if you were right about that, where does all the rest of God's character come from? Does a first cause have to be male, loving, anti-sex, anti-BAME, vengeful and threatening?
