The Truth Of The Bible.

Only the bible describes the state of the world as we head into the End Times.
Only the bible has verifiable prophecies that can be tested for truth.
Is it not time to take the bible seriously?

and Pauls' s letters ? - Pastoral - how to run a church or the personal ones

no one believes the parable of the prodigal son prohecies anything, OK John, there is one who comes after me and I will not be worthy to tie the buckle on his sandal

does er prophesy the coming of the Lord, like you know next week. Nothing long term. I mean do you just cross out that bit?

Nailit, if you search the internet, including YouTube, you will find many preachers of all hues, from the money grubbing preachers who ask you to donate, to the academics who spend their time lecturing and writing books for each other.
But, if you are selective, you will find good solid bible teaching, and if you are seriously seeking God, then a prayerful search will be rewarded with somebody who can take you through the scriptures, and expound them in a way that you will find appealing.

nothing wrong with prayer, but certainty it will be rewarded is a bit er light. I wouldnt do the blank mind trick with going thro the NT but choose someone who has studied them..(*) This almost certainly a churchman - and finally - when you have got an interpretation of the scriptures that is appealing
it may not be the right one ( one that god intends) - even tho it appeals

You are aware that there are many Bibles?
(And I dont mean translations)?
Some Bibles omit Revelations for instance.
Some Bibles accept the apocrypha.
Many early traditions rejected many books that are now accepted.

How do you KNOW that you your own collection of fables is true?

How would I know that they are true?
How would I differentiate between them?

Phew...its hard work trying to discern Gods words to us.

Yes it could be confusing, but you must remember God has preserved His word for us. Some minor aberrations are caused through translating errors, but in the generally accepted versions such as the King James and the N..I.V. there are no deviations from the essential message of salvation.
I use both, but wish I could have learned Hebrew and Greek to read them in their original languages.
But, my two translations are sufficient for me.
