Only the bible describes the state of the world as we head into the End Times.
Only the bible has verifiable prophecies that can be tested for truth.
Is it not time to take the bible seriously?

the letter in the Times today said: Bible Studies Dear Sir, Keith Elliott writes about the debate over the exclusive authority of the New Testament (credo letters). Christians believe that canonical scripture was established under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. That some books entered the canon 'by the skin of their teeth' is immaterial....

In that case your comprehension fails you.

Not at all.
// Theland, I’ve pointed it out - twice. Jesus was NOT the messiah the Jews were anticipating.//

and anything she points out twice .... has to be true
( Alice in Wonderland)

suppose someone says, I am the X
and people say - - no you are not
does that make that someone - - not X ?
There’s a bit of deep thinking for you, PP. Go easy now.

Theland, denying it doesn’t make it less true.
Question Author
Alleging the dishonesty of the article doesn't make it so.
It is. Jesus was not the messiah the Jews are awaiting. If you think he was perhaps you should tell the Jews you know more about their religion than they do.
Question Author
Jesus was the Messiah. That is beyond dispute.
Sadly, the Jews did not recognise Him as He did not display the powers and characteristics that they had believed the Messiah must have.
Their problem, not the problem of the Messiah.
They missed an opportunity.
Theland, that is a lie. It is not beyond dispute - which is why it’s disputed.
Question Author
Only you dispute it.
Don’t be ridiculous.
Question Author
Never.

no borrowed from someone else....

Now TheLand ( oh stop squabbling you two!) in your honour , I have bought - Eschatology and the New Testament - by Joseph Rhymer.
Eschatology is greek for end of times. Joseph Rhymer .... was my English teacher - not now, he's dead , it killed him. the book has - - yet to arrive but it Will Come !

see Naomi's possy little comment above - deep thought etc

please think about how I can send you the copy once I have read it, without you blasting your name and address to all and sundry over the internet.

[yes readers famous theologians had to do boot camp teaching uninterested teenagers english language. Illtyd trethowan. Even Basil Hume did a stretch, and Butler. I cant imagine they write kindly of this time of their lives]

Rhymer or Naomi - go for Rhymer
Who else disputes it, theland? Be honest now.
Question Author
Anybody reading it literally.
Oh, so the reader shouldn’t read what’s there but try to work out what it really means. Bit like the bible then. Funny how religion doesn’t like anything to be straightforward.
// Oh, so the reader shouldn’t read what’s there but try to work out what it really means.//

yes we do it every day - what did the bible mean when written what does it means to us now?

take a random phrase: just any

There’s a bit of deep thinking for you, PP. Go easy now

is this on the face of it, a concerned ABer worried bout the mental health of another deaf and blind ABer, christian to the core - the writer not the blind fella...

but try to work out what it really means.//
in this case a silly put down and standard bit of piffle?

we do this everyday
Not we, pp - you.
Question Author
I am happy that I have read and understood it correctly.
You have? The Jews would disagree with you.
Question Author
Of course they would. They expected a triumphal king and got a suffering servant.
