Having been disappointed in the past from unbiblical teaching from the Church Of England and a Gospel Hall, my sins have been weighing heavy on me lately, and I felt the need for Christian community.
So, today I attended a local Evangelical church.
I enjoyed it and was made very welcome.
This could be my spiritual home for the future.
Do any of you have any thoughts on Evangelical churches?

I don't really follow your rationale, Atheist. I had hoped the scriptures would speak for themselves. Those who say there is no God are making a patently foolish statement. Denying His existence is about as foolish as it gets. But despite our foolishness, God gives us multiple chances throughout life to turn from our ways and find full forgiveness,...

Nothing wrong with my moral code.
:o(
Honest bible - now there's an oxymoron.

Canary, you are in good company with your shallow comments.

There's another one!
Question Author
Canary questions the honesty of the bible without any tangible evidence.
A not unexpected post from a follower of Scientism, the pseudo religion of those without recourse to the truth, but with an insatiable itch to post cheap shots with a vain attempt at highbrow humour.
It failed.
If you follow the bible as a moral code then you are sick!!!
Its abbhorent to any sane, rational thinking person.

Can YOU qualify that, or are you a dyed in the wool disciple of Naomi and her erroneous teachings?
\\ Question AuthorVulcan, honest bible teaching is what I want, free from the apostate teachings of the mainstream churches.
Anything wrong with that?//
Why do you need other people to tell you what you already believe? is your faith not strong enough on its own?
Question Author
Yes Vulcan my faith is strong.
I don't need reassurances from any man or woman.
Theland, //are you a dyed in the wool disciple of Naomi and her erroneous teachings? //

What does that mean?
I'm glad to hear you have found somewhere that can support your spiritual needs
Only a fool wiould question the teachings of Naomi! Heretic!
What does that^ mean.
I found it amusing that Theland referred to the teachings of Naomi. He's got an odd way of looking at things sometimes. Of course, maybe he was being humorous, as was I; both of us should hav flagged it with a :-)
Right ....
"Do any of you have any thoughts on Evangelical churches?"

I've no personal experience but my daughter attended one with a workmate.
She said it seemed like a lot of clap.
///Canary, you are in good company with your shallow comments.///

You can't get more shallow than "I've been to church today". Was that followed by " . . . so I've been a good boy haven't I Mummy, can I go out to play now" :-D
/// Canary questions the honesty of the bible without any tangible evidence. A not unexpected post from a follower of Scientism///

Your "it's all about me" approach obviously ignored earlier posts of mine where I admit to being a follower of the Olympian Gods, so don't invent accusations like Scientism out of your blissful narcissism.
