There is a lot of anti-muslim feeling here on AB, and also some anti-christian feeling. I'd be interested to hear from muslims who have thoughts on this.

Khandro - // AH, you’re wrong. Khandro doesn’t get on my nerves. It’s simply that when a man of his considerable intellect allows himself to be influenced in any way by anyone severely lacking in that area, he disappoints. That’s all. //

You have a poor choice in friends, and you are a disappointment - take five hundred lines!!
// It’s simply that .....blah de blah yappityyap.... he disappoints. That’s all.//

= Khandro listens to people I think he shouldnt

hem another deep thought from AB
oh.... at least I read and understand what AH writes
The question about how we sort "the wheat from the chaff" is just as irrational, as if you said it about any other human. Some commit crimes, but we don't lock everyone up "just in case".
A little less generalisation would be useful, for this famed "intellect ". Lol.
Irrational, Pixie? Really? If you're looking for Islamic fundamentalists it would be entirely irrational to seek them in other sections of society.
Plenty of news outlets mention the fact that the bomber was not approached because of the fear of being accused of being racist.

So what foo dat is on about I don't know.
We aren't... the question is about people feeling anti-muslim. And why. Anti-terrorist, is obvious, but lumping millions into a group and mistrusting them all... is irrational.
That's entirely stupid, roy, and the fault of those who believe that.
Really?

The people who are always willing to shout "racist" "islamaphobia" where there is non but they think it makes them look good for doing it...they shouldn't take any blame at all?
Pixie. //the question is about people feeling anti-muslim//

It is - but in your eagerness to appear ‘rational’ you neglect to consider why the question arises at all.
No. The laws don't work that way... if it's about criminal behaviour, being scared 8f being called a racist, is a cowardly excuse.
//but lumping millions into a group and mistrusting them all... is irrational.//

So when people hated the Germans it was irrational then?

Or the Russians in the 60-70's
I don't, naomi. The question appears because of the general mistrust of Muslims as a group, rather than individuals, and the bigotry so often displayed.
//being scared 8f being called a racist, is a cowardly excuse.//

Tell that to the people who have been unjustly pilloried and lost their jobs because they were wrongly accused of being racist.
Hating all, of any group, is clearly irrational. Hating the evil ones isn't. I don't think you need it spelling out, ymb.
Ymb, if the system needs changing, change it. Don't join in. Have you got links for these?
Pixie, //That's entirely stupid, roy, and the fault of those who believe that. //

It's not stupid. It happened.

Pixie, //The question appears because of the general mistrust of Muslims as a group//

Why does that mistrust exist?
// Have you got links for these?//

What for anti german feeling during the wars and anti Russian feeling during the cold war?

Are you serious?

If you really are unaware of this then there are plenty of documentaries on it. Suggest you watch a few and learn.
Bigotry, naomi. Tarring everyone with the same brush. Your example is kind of the point. Why do you find that acceptable and join in?
Surely, it need to be challenged, rather than just accept, it's "how it is". However exaggerated.
