Like why the f*** are we here?
Spent a lifetime of 56 yrs questioning everything....
Evangelical Christianity from my teenage years until my mid 20's.
(Could have been born into a Muslim country, or a Hindu culture...how different THAT would have been)
Spent a decade or so looking into the Esoteric/occult etc.
And there's overlaps obviously.
Spent countless hours reading just about everything
from psychology to religion to philosophy.
All the ''Hay House'' stuff back in the 80's
And all the Occult stuff from the same time period.
Same time as all the 'Second Coming' tripe.

Lived through DECADES of the second coming tripe...
And yet nowhere in the Old Testament is there any record of 2 comings of the Messiah??

Ive had countless religionists (because I engage with them) say to me that I am looking for something.

I repeat, all religions are sourced from the words of men. Look within during the quiet times. In silence there is wisdom.

Life just is.... We are animals that have a sense of self.... We create Gods and structures to make us feel there is a reason for our being, when maybe, there is no reason just a series of chance events. We are lucky if we live a life that includes an understanding of beauty, and a sense of responsibility for our fellow beings. The latter for no reason other than it makes life an easier experence. Then our bodies age and die if we are lucky, just did too soon if we are not and we are reduced by whatever means culture uses to the general pool of raw materials. For me it's enough

But thinking of others who might do!
As a teenager I didnt have the knowledge or critical thinking skills of others who were older and wiser than me and got taken in by (Firstly) an evangelical church and then secondly a cult.

My teenage years and early 20's were taken up by religion when I should off been out on the ale and taking young maidens back to my place for a nightcap!!

I think we should be more like animals - live for the moment / the day. Don't think too much about the past or the future. I put the dog in the car - he doesn't know if he's going for a grand day out in the park or to the vets to be put down. He just trusts.

Why have you spent all those years questioning? You are here, like all of us , because you parents had sex. Everyone is born organic, not spiritual, it’s up to the individual to decide to just get on with life or try to find a meaning. A bit like chewing on worrying about how your PC works rather than just getting on using it. considering a large proportion of humanity is basically ***, hateful and destroying the planet I cannot for the life of me think of any reason a ‘god’ would put such a creature on a planet. Don't run yourself down. Look at supposedly intelligent people like Justin Welby, who are completely convinced by the fairy stories of religion. It never ceases to amaze me how they don't question it enough.

The Old Testament is all about the coming of Jesus. That's really what its there for. Many prophecies about the coming of Jesus in Isaiah, Zechariah, Micah etc.

If I was to write a book about the arrival of a gas engineer. I am not sure I would bother writing about his second arrival 2,000 years later

One great game I now play whenever I meet someone new is to try to work out in what way they're mad. All of us are you know in some way!

Having seen some photos and videos of you with your granddaughter- you have obviously found your meaning. I suspect we are just meant to learn and pass it on. No rhyme or reason. But people are designed to think, look for patterns etc. It's just an evolution thing, so religion will satisfy that for some people.
