Football seems to be developing a conscience regarding the corruption in Qatar.

Since the location of the World Cup in China,Russia, and now Qatar, were entirely rooted in rank corruption, isn't it a bit late for everyone to suddenly grow a sense of moral outrage now?

I suspect there was moral out rage from the silent majority before.

OG - You are probably right - just not enough outrage to bother getting vocal about it, as usual
LOL.....yes A-H I would agree with the mode of your post.
However, this World Cup the corruption (unacceptabliity) involves, beer, booze and Gays, in which case it has shown a totally unacceptable face of society and must be stamped out immediately.

Let's "nuke" Qatar and all it's stupid laws and customs.
Far too late obviously at the time we knew about FIFA, and their not so shadowy dealings but nothing could be done then or now.

I’m now hoping for a good performance from all players and teams although Qatar has already bought those in charge so they win it
Do.nt think it's ever been in China... but yes Qatar and Russia seemed two odd choices. Qatar very suspicious as its odd they never thought about the social side or the weather
isn't it a bit late for everyone to suddenly grow a sense of moral outrage now?

so.... no regrets ever - because they are scruples grown post facto ( just a weentsy bit of Latin, parva Latina) and they are to be regretted and criticized

well interesting view point

Not christian, isnt there a parable where those late at the table are treated as well as the early shift?
I'm already sick of hearing about football and it's not even started yet.If you don't like being in Qatar don't go, if you do go expect to live by their rules and shut up.
And on top of all this, poor Ronaldo is not happy with his working conditions.
The outrage was there as soon as the result was announced but was ignored and as far as I remember the FA did consider not competing and should not have done.
football sold it soul years ago, money talks.
Money talks and bovine faeces walks.

What's new?
nothing 1ozzy... i don't follow the game usually,
Me either,
is there some sort of football competition taking place? LOL
I bet all those people who are condemning the likes of David Beckham for his £10,000,000 fee for promoting the World Cup will happily watch it.

People will watch it. Without a doubt. And ignore the sanctimony.
yes they will and forget all about their conscience.
Sorry emmie but I don't know where the conscience bit comes in.
many objected to it being in Qatar, but are going anyway...

I've no idea how the selection process works but I'd hazard a guess that 'everyone' doesn't get a say in the final choice of venue. Whoever made the decision to award the event to a country with a worse than medieval culture needs his bumps felt.
Is it any different to those who oppose bullfighting yet choose to holiday in France and Spain?
