My Google logo today is made from 'Christmas lights', and bears the uplifting message, 'Seasonal Holidays'.
Is this yet another ploy to put Christianity on the back-burner and brain-wash our youth and the gullible ?

Brainwash the Youth and the Gullible - PMSL
Much of the way Christmas is celebrated in the West has little to do with Christianity anyway.
Very unlikely He was born on 25 December.
However, Jesus was born. He is God coming to the world, Emmanual and that's what really matters
Christmas matters, fiveleaves … and that’s coming from an atheist. It matters.
My Google logo is the same as alway -Plain, no lights or message.
It should be o the back burner. Is Germany a Christian country? I note that UK no longer is
Naomi; Why does Christmas matter to you? Is it because it celebrates the birth of our Saviour? Or is it because it brings people together? What do you make of it?
bednobs; Why do you say that the UK is no longer a christian country? After a general election, is the UK no longer a Tory country, or no longer a Labour country? Surely we don't need to be labelled as this or that.
I have the Christmas logo. I'm in the US.

Google honors many different people, national and ethnic celebrations. Why would Christmas be any different?

Note: "Our youth" are a lot smarter than that !
Despite the recent survey, bednobs, apart from Asians and some Africans, I think people in this country are in their hearts Christian. They might not go to church, but I know few who believe that when they’re dead they’re dead. They’re all going to see their loved ones again.
Atheist, it matters to me because I value our culture. I feel the same about the royal family.
Plain here too
Khandro, my ‘google’ has now changed to fairy lights - no slogan.
naomi if you visit my Love Actually thread, you'll see when it's on again.
Tech companies in silicon valley recognise US Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah at this time of year, which is why they say ‘Seasonal Holidays’.

No conspiracy against Christianity, no diversity nonsense. Why do the right alway play the victim when there isn’t any merit to their whinging.

"I think people in this country are in their hearts Christian."

I realise that it's only a think, but you do sometimes seem to 'think" a lot of stuff and then think that your think is a valid thing.

"Christmas is Christmas" is really just a meaningless waffle.
Google is a global brand, but primarily a US company.
If they want to celebrate Thanksgiving and Hanukkah, as well as Christmas, then that is their wish.
If it upsets you, use another company.
Atheist, //I realise that it's only a think, but you do sometimes seem to 'think" a lot of stuff and then think that your think is a valid thing.//

I 'think' it is valid. People raised in the Christian tradition don't need to go to church to retain a belief that, after death, they will see their deceased loved ones again - or to ask God for help in times of need. And despite attempts to dismiss it Christmas is Christmas - and that isn't meaningless waffle. Have you got your tree up yet?
Gromit, that's not the point Khandro is making. If google want to celebrate other religious festivals they will - but in this instance even though they've adorned their page with Christmas lights they've omitted to mention Christmas.
who actually cares
its not christmas yet you know we have hanukkah next are lights only for christians or can any joe put up a coloured bulb for the winter
