No matter how well you like what you are doing, no matter how satisfied you are with your situation and no matter what your plans are, you will immediately leave all these and run to a place of safety if you are convinced that the danger of sudden death is staring you in the face.

i am very interested to know how a warning from a watchman can keep you safe from an atomic explosion?
I'd like to know if the word 'deluded' appears anywhere in any version of the bible?
they used to say there would be a four-minute warning, bednobs. And people would be able to hide in their storm cellars in Kansas as they do from tornados.

Failing that, people were taught to duck and cover

When I first watched ‘Threads’ in the early eighties it scared the begeebies out of me. But living in West Yorkshire with the early warning system up on moors… I knew we were fcked even a mattress wouldn’t help much.
Fylingdales is a fair way from West yorks, Arky. I lived in WY in the 80s too - whereabouts were you?
If you’re asking about the golf balls we were close enough. For a nuclear expiation.
*explosion.
Using phone auto correct.
It's surprising how little the blast spread of a nuclear device is. Here have a go with this:

I was resident near Cleckheaton in the 80's incidentally.
My Mum lives in Cleckheaton as I type (Top of the hill), I was shifted about so much in my youth that's why non specific 17th home this one.
Bear in mind I was twelve at the time, very scary to a young Arky.
Arky, does your mum live in Hightown? There are lots of hills in Cleck ;-) My mum (88 tomorrow) lives 2 miles outside.
There are no atheists in a foxhole. Is
that what the op meant?
But what's done in blind panic isn't necessarily done in times of calm reflection.
Yes, Sandy I think that's what the OP was alluding to. It's why I asked what a place of safety was but, as per usual, I never received a coherent reply.
When I were a lad, my dad gave me the following advice;
“Beware of Jesus freaks, especially those who claim to have a personal relationship with the man himself”
those words stayed with me all these years and served me well. No offence intended to any AB Jesus freaks, you can do as you like , as long as you don’t bother me with it.
Zac, without giving too much away she lives close to Angel st. not far from the Library and cemetery.
Handy for Tesco ;-)
I'm too far away to travel. :-)
Yes :-)
