Maybe you could reach out to family/friends? Please don't be alone on Christmas Day, been there and done that and it wasn't a happy time. Lots of organisations have lunches etc laid on. Go, have lunch in company, don't be on your own.
It's just one day.... on my own as well as I have been since Redman died.. I get invited but refuse them as I know how an Aunt felt with the family taking turns to host her over the holidays. It's hard but you have family you love, and I know you have had extra stuff to deal with but hang onto the idea that maybe this year can be different.

Hi nailedit. Loneliness is soul destroying, more so when you feel lonely when amongst family and/or friends.
Plan your day - make an effort to do the things you know you enjoy. If you have to do something you are not particularly keen on, make the most of it, it will pass. If you want to spend the day in bed, that's fine too, but make the effort to go for a walk, prepare a meal or make a phone call first.
I'm alone today. Christmas Eve service helped get me through to here.
OH is seriously ill in hospital. He's beating the pneumonia, but there has been mental damage with the temperatures and he can't now feed himself or stand up.
The love I have felt from all the people around and their offers of help, are keeping me going. I'll try to do some organ practice soon.
