Since we know from televangelists and other such folk that so-called natural disasters are a punishment from God for homosexuality or atheism etc, would anyone care to speculate what has got God's goat this time?

Given that the only person to be seriously injured seems to be a student whose legs were crushed by a falling chimney, is it possible that God either hates people who can walk or people attempting to educate themselves.

Other options are that He's objecting to mild blasphemy (Gadzooks and Bl00dy) or possibly the amount of sarcasm on the AB.

Perhaps he's just feeling sorry for Father Christmas and getting rid of all those irritating chimneys so he can use the door like everyone else.
Perhaps it is global warming gone mad and smoke spouting chimneys are its latest target.

Personally I could thank God for the latest tremor, my bed hasnt moved like that for weeks.

You were only just boasting about your considerable successes copping off with lesbians the other day. Surely you weren't lying to us?
Wasn't it their bed thought and not his Waldo? Heaven forbid Oct might have been having us on, he's always struck me as such an upstanding gentleman. (God it was hard to type that last bit witha straight face).
Maybe He was trying to shake some sense into the muslims

Good point, though it seems a bit churlish to complain, if so!
No, I only said the invitation was there. I thank God that He lead me not into that temptation, although I was upstanding I must admit.
Maybe the tremor was God showing Oct what he missed then.
LOL at the lot of you!!
China, maybe he was showing them what they missed after I moved out.

But God certainly does move in mysterious ways China, just the other night He lead me into drinking several pints of Guinness and reflect upon the meaning of life and sing some Irish songs with my bestest mates. You just dont get that sort of divine encouragement if youre a non-believer, do you.
A large in-take of guiness would certainly cause some tremmors I believe.
Ah yes, the old delirium tremens certainly played a part.
if thier was a god!!!! why do the kids die and animals. maybe the next place we go is alot better and thats why he takes the best away.................. dont know i m a non believer....
That is true few would think it as geological variations. And few take them as REMINDERS. Does not make difference who dies, because one day all of us have to go through that door of death, believe it or not, it is not going to change. But I know people would rather have personal opinions here but my opinion is here if anyone wants to read. Many would again come up with criticism but few might learn something. Our job is to remind.

More cracking good sense from the man who says that if you get circumcised, women will never leave you.
I *WANT* to ask:

REMINDERS for what?

But I won't.
if it was god he must really hate africa and america, giving africa severe droughts and usa hurricanes, tornadoes and major earthquakes...

its more likely to be a natrual occurance....
Could be the muslims

Do you get a lot of them in Market Rasen in Lincolnshire?

Ah - I've solved it!

Bernie Taupin was married there, and 'Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting' is apparently based on the pub in the town square, so it's the fault of the homosexuals.
Nah, it must be full of atheists.
