Since Naomi will not give me the ****ing key I have decided to follow Jesus and be a Christian just like Theland. I am ashamed of my past history here so I'm going to devote the time I used to spend on ab to reading the Bible. No question really because I no longer care about what people think. I'll get all my answers from God from now on thank you.

Let's have a, "team hug."
Anyone up for it?
Mibs, when faced with an apparent contradiction . . . check your premise.

I'll do that - and I'll also check my thesaurus.
BIG DECISION DAY!
I've got to see my GP at 09:10 this morning.
don't know whether to sign off the sick and start work Monday, or sign off today and start the new job tomorrow, Friday. The shipyard want me A.S.A.P. so tomorrow is OK by them.
But ....... I don't mind telling you, I'm not half scared! Really!
I just don't have the confidence anymore.
This is like trial by fire.
Am I looking for sympathy?
You're damn right I am!
I want answers, like how can I cope between now and then?
I haven't slept for two days, partly for having the grandkids wriggling around my bed, and also because I can't switch my bloody head off!
C'mon Mibs.
You've had me in a test tube for yonks. So you know me.
What shall I do? What shall I think? Help!
My thread in, "Law."
Any ideas?
Theland, I can't open your link.

Reading that Revenge thread really upset me - and I'm still feeling the effects. I had, and still have, serious doubts about staying with AB. At this moment I feel that I am in some sort of surreal world of nightmares - somewhere I just don't want to be, or to even know exists. I'm rarely shocked by the behaviour of human beings, because I have very little faith or, if you like, belief or expectation in their integrity, their honesty, their kindness, their unselfishness, their apparent friendship, or in their ability to genuinely care for their fellow man's well-being, but that thread went even further than confirming my worst fears. Perhaps I'm naive - perhaps because I wouldn't hurt anyone, either physically or emotionally, although I know that others aren't necessarily the same, in my eternal optimism, I somehow expect them to possess, at the very least, a little humanity. It really had a very profound, and negative, effect on me. And, yes, Wizard was there, and very clearly relishing it.

It's only your daft post here this morning that has tempted me to post again. You've brought a little light back, so thank you for that.
My pleasure Naomi.
I'm now signed off as fit for work. (Ha Ha)
Don't know whether to start tomorrow, or have a last weekend of freedom.

Yes, a little titter makes the world go round.

I'm going to bed for an hour or two, to catch up on some much needed sleep, I hope.
Weekend of freedom and then we can both be the new guys together Theland.

What post are you talking about that's upset you so Naomi? I believe in humanity, I even have faith in it. In my experience, individuals are fantastic but crowds not so much and maybe the post you saw was a realisation of what a baying crowd, (even in cyberland) can be like. Often just a bunch of people giving it the biggun while others either chime in or egg them on. The truth is usually very different. Besides, I'd rather take the postives from the individuals I know on here than focus on the rubbish as the individuals make it all worth while.

Such is life.
This is it, China. I can't believe people can be so disgusting.

I'm thinking of becoming a hermit.

Ha! That's just funny!

Most of the names of that thread are blithering idiots and I'd suspect that at least two of them are the same person!

The saddest thing about that entire thread is that most of it is probably a pack of lies by user names who are desperately trying to look cool and out do each other to other user names... I can't conceive why anyone would do that in their everyday lives let alone in cyber world. I feel very sorry for them.

As far as I can tell, anyone who had, oooh I don't know.... used their flatmates toothbrust to clean the rim of the toilet or dumped their dirty dishes that had been their a week under their bed clothes on a night they knew their flatmate was bringing home the person they'd been dating.... wouldn't be broacasting it to all and sundry. They might not feel particularly bad about it and it may make for a funny story but I can't see them being proud of it. or needing to tell it to all and sundry to show they;re a force to be reckoned with. I imagine they probably don't need the kudos that comes from a malicious act.being as that's no kind of kudos at all.

It's lack of confidence in yourself that leads to this kind of bragging.Plus wishful thinking and bitterness. No person in their right mind would brag about that. Hence, I just feel sorry for the muppets!

I know what you're saying, but unlike you I can't find a rational excuse for it. How can people can even THINK like that? What twisted minds they must have.
Yeah, not very nice.

But surely less objectionable than some of the hardline views that are aired on News? Wishing death to all Muslims, wanting gays to be exterminated, Holocaust denial.

Why do you find the revenge thread more distasteful than that?

ChatterBank, Oh yeah! answerbank's outhouse. Isn't it a good thing that such as post there what they post there have a place to go where the rest of us do not have to smell the fumes?

Naomi, If you base you judgment of human nature of what you read in ChatterBank kindly exempt me from inclusion in the species.

Theland, When I attempted to link to your group hug I got this:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /u36/mickbeno/upload/24571097.westportTeamHug.jpg on this server.

. . . Thanks all the same.
Quinlad, an assumption, and a stupid one.

Mibs, As you wish.
Question Author
Naomi, Thanks!
I actually agree with what Quin said (hello by the way) with regards to what is said in News to an extent. There are some hard line views in there that are horrific as well as generally being ignorant of all the facts. I'm frequently ignorant of all the facts which is my fault entirely for not taking the time to study them but my saving gracsa are a proneness to rationality and a lack of knee jerking, (also makes for bad reflexes).

However I can see Naomi's point to an extent too. Is it perhaps Naomi that you see in CB people as people doing bad things whereas in News you suspect some people are on a wind up so despite whay they say they think and would do, it isn't the case? (Does that make sense).

I would like to take the time to point out that there are some decent people in CB, I regularly post in there as do a couple of people I can now call friends, just as News attracts extremism and Society attracts fundamentalism, so everyday chitter chatter can also attract... erm... chit!

I got the same thing as Mibs by the way Theland when clicking on your link.
You're welcome.
