JNO, I don't know which version of the bible you use, but I use the King James, and according to that Luke 22:70 doesn't say 'They all asked "Are you then the Son of God?" He (Jesus) replied, "You are right in saying I am.", it says 'Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.'
I would say that the two supposed statements are totally contradictory. In your version he admits that he's the Son of God, in mine he's pretty much saying 'I'm not saying that - you are'.
According to the Bible, only once did Jesus claim to be the Son of God, and that is in another account of his trial. All the other gospels say something similar to that above. If we look at the evidence, such as it is, it appears none of his followers were present at the trial, and there are no official records, so I have to ask who witnessed that one confession and who reported it?
We also have to bear in mind that when one of his disciples asked him who he was, he gave no answer. He simply said 'who do you say that I am? Don't you find it odd that he withheld that vital information from his disciples? Additionally, there were times when his family thought he'd flipped! Now if they knew that he was indeed the Son of God - and if anyone knew, it would have been them - why would they question his sanity? And what does that say about Mary, his mother, and her claim of a liaison with the Holy Ghost? Too many questions, JNO, and no rational answers. The authors tripped themselves up continually.
We've got builders in too - what a pain!
