ok bare with me I don't even know if this makes sense....

Key plus always argues that islam is more 'correct' than Christianity-as in less flaws and loopholes...
And I also think Islam is younger than Christianity?

well does it follow then that the most complete religion should be scientology........does it follow that the younger the religion the more 'correct' they are?

Just the ramblings of a mad man bored whilst eating my Branflakes this morning!!!

Well I guess the later a religion the better the opportunity to incorporate known facts into it.

Alas the originators of religions are often strangers to such facts.

By this logic David Icke's beliefs should be virtually unassailable!

Back to the drawing board?
We've talked about this before, but it's a logical theory. Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Scientologists, and all the potty cults - they all come into the running. (By the way, Islam is younger that Christianity Sherman).

Cheers for answers Do you reckon that Islam even though it was started all those years ago was still able to learn from any mistakes in Christianity or did it just start on its own and was just lucky that it has fewer mistakes?
I'm not sure what you mean when you say it has fewer mistakes.
Maybe

They've avoided all that messy trinity stuff and all the idol worship of golden statues of Mary.

I'd say they've also based firmly on a text (short cutting the reformation phase) but Shi'ite muslims in particular have still managed to break away into a mystical version - so that one's a nice try but no cigar!

well Naomi one example is Keyplus is a lot more open to evolution than a lot of christians because it's not mentioned in the Koran. Thats the only example i can think of and is prob a bad example cause the Muslims of the time prob had no idea of evolution but its all I've got just noo!
Why don't you suggest *** sapiens and modern apes share a common ancestor and see how much Keyplus supports evolution then? ;-)

Don't forget, the vast majority of Christians accept evolution. It's only the lunatic fringe who don't.
Excellent - we can't even type the name of our own species...
keyplus is software not the new messiah

touche Waldo. It always annoys me how little I know of other peoples faifths.. But then i Think if i've heard of one god I've probably heard of them all! worship him no one else blah blah blah I still don't get why a religion person reads one book and is convinced but could have 140 religions still to discover! how do they make that leap?

sorry i've hijacked my own thread here!!!
Sherman, in that respect, Christians who deny evolution at least have the courage of their convictions (as irrational as those convictions may be) whereas Keyplus accepts evolution only because he cannot dispute it. As has been demonstrated on the science thread below, Islam makes every attempt to fit the book to the facts. If you ask where the Koran mentions evolution, the chances are you'll be given the verse that says Allah made all living creatures from water, but the verses that say man was made from clay, from dust, and from mud will be kept well and truly under wraps.

As for how they make that leap, it's usually because they haven't learnt or been taught about other religions, and consequently they haven't made an informed choice. They just go along with whatever their particular culture tells them. As Sam Harris says all people of religion are atheists where other religions are concerned.

Sacrilege! :o)
First of all I would like to say that I know modern world believes that Islam is only 1400 years old and Muhammad (pbuh) founder of Islam. But Muslims believe that Islam (total submission to the will of God)has always been there as the message of all the prophets from Adam to Muhammad (pbuta) has always been the same “worship only one God” its only few people later changed the message. And that is the reason that any Muslim who refuses to believe in any of the prophet is not a Muslim. Whereas none of the other religions do that.

Then Islam gives practical solutions to all the problems of individuals as well as society, as it is not just a religion of the book but a complete way of life. That is the reason you would find verses dealing with every aspect of life and no other religious scripture has that distinction. Now not every one has to agree with that but increase in Islam in recent years is only due to this reason.

For evolution I would say that being a Muslim I believe that first human Adam (pbuh) was created by God, but Quran does speak about something that might have something to do with evolution (and Naomi it’s not water).

Quran5:60. Say: "Shall I point out to you something much worse than this, (as judged) by the treatment it received from Allah. those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path!"
