Why are people so retarded?
Why is using the word allah or mohammed such a crime?
And if it IS such a crime surely Allan would turn them all to pigs or something like he used to do when people crossed him? Or enact some other punishment that would fit the crime?

Each to their own I say - but that includes letting everyone else who doesn't agree with you get on with their lives too. The sooner fundamentalists get this idea the better. As to the particular issue - Islam is in its 15th century, and seems to be about where Christianity was then. They already have their versions of the Inquisition in many areas.

Any god who is seriously hurt by the misuse of his name can't be particularly omnipotent. If you feel your "almighty one" needs protecting from name calling then perhaps a change of religion is in order?

There's something fundamentally wrong when people feel they are entitled to claim sole right to use a word. Rather than dismissing it lightly we should be asking ourselves why anyone feels he is entitled to demand that the rest of the world concedes to his wishes and beliefs. As far as I'm aware, no other section of society lays claim to the sole use of any word, but unfortunately people like these are bent on causing disharmony, and will do it in whatever way they can. After the Teddy Bear fiasco and the nonsense over the cartoons, this is a sign of the times and is yet another indication of the lunatic element's ultimate ambition to take over the asylum.

I think Teleph0ne hit the nail on the head. Fundamentalists and extremists are just looking for ammunition and "misuse" of a name is as good an excuse as any. Note I have deliberately not used the word Muslim, most religions are or have been as bad as one another. There are exceptions such as Budhists but generally if a large enough group of people have a strongly held belief then a proportion of them will take the extreme view that no-one should subscribe to any other view.

This equally applies to ABers.

In future any religion that calims an omnipotent being at the top, MUST call it Allen.

You can then claim copyright and charge for the use.
