It's not selfish though....When my Dad was sick he was mentioned every week at mass to pray for him. People do...that's not selfish.

Yeah but what is your main reason for having religion? Is it just to keep yourself happy? Or to ensure safe passage for yourself to heaven? Or what?

I usually only read these debates and rarely get involved. I believe it comes down to how you have been brought up. I have/had religious parents and went to Catholic schools. I have never known any different and until I ventured in R&S I never realised there are so many atheists. So many that I'm shocked by it. I do respect and understand their views and find it very interesting.

It's called faith. I still believe in God though. I think my belief makes me a better person.
