Something I saw, paranormal

Listen up AB, what I am going to tell you, what I saw. I have only told two other people about this. I am an older woman, never drank, smoke or did drugs. What I saw, I saw, and is the truth.. I live in a VERY rural area in Alaska. The only other human being around was about one mile away . I will tell you step by step, what happened. I live on a mountain ridge, was walking down our one-mile driveway which has a switch-back. As I appoached the switch back and the bank that obscurs the view ahead I saw a creature. It was the height of a medium size man, it would be described as "wearing a clock or cape of feathers", it was obviously a bird. The split second I saw it, sent a chill up my spine. It was not recognizable or identifiable and I immediatly felt threatend, something that big, like a predator prey relationship. Since it was not recognizable, I said to myself, I did not see that. And I moved back so it could not see me because of the bank. I swallowed and with the terror yet in my mind, I slowly peeked again around the corner. It was gone. I ran over to where it was sitting, nothing in the sky in any direction. This bird would have had to have a huge wingspan. I know of no bird that it could be.
This was no doubt the eriest strange feeling. I kicked myself for not focusing and letting it out of my sight to see what it was. It was a gravel berm of soft stuff that did not leave any specific impressions, only a slight depression from weight. If I had to tie it to anything it would be a pre-historic bird, which is not possible in the real world, I mean a scientists depiction of what pre-historic birds looked like? So to this day I am baffled. It was in October, two years ago. I thought to myself what should I tell my husband, who is a retired wildlife biologist. I waited several days to tell him.

He thought it was probably Steller's eagle that are occasionally is seen in SW Alaska. He didn'treally get too excited about it. He said one of his biologists saw a bald eagle and a Steller's sitting side by side and the Steller's was quite a bit taller in length. I did tell him that what I saw did mostly look like a pre-historic bird. Would't it be nice if I had a cell camera with me (and knew how use it? I told him it looked like the lengh of three bald eagles. Oh Well, onward and foreward. I don't know how that associated press article got by me. I usually scan the newspapers.
