This urban myth has been running for decades Phil aimed either at the drugs manufacturer s or charities, cynical attitude and worrying that people still believe it. I will say that of course not every charity is run as efficiently as it could be,but one would need to analyse the accounts of each one to determine which those are. Do that if you have the time.

A deeply offensive idea - both to the charity and to people who have cancer - if anyone honestly believes that then I despair of them.
I doubt there will ever be a single "cure for cancer" anyway - it's not one disease but many variants bracketed under a single umbrella title.
If we cure breast cancer there will still be testicular cancer, if we cure that there will still be pancreatic cancer etc etc etc.

Where exactly do you see that then, philkool?
If you can be bothered to read this (as opposed to tittle tattle) you'll see that over 70% goes directly on research, about 15% is used to generate more income/donations and much of the rest is used on awareness campaigns.
