Sqad - yes it would be the biggy. But if they cured it, people would live longer so there would be other conditions that set in (dementia etc) that need to be cured. I think, like you, that when they cure cancer it will be one single thing that they discover. The trigger, a protein that is released or something and there will be one cure for it. I think it will be like when they found that anti-biotics killed bacteria. All of these treatments, chemo, radiotherapy, immunotherapy can be effective but they are not the cure. The guy from the drugs company said that they aim to bring out 6 new drugs per year (not necessarily for cancer) and they spend years developing them, testing them etc only for the FDA to refuse them a licence. Maybe that is why drugs are so expensive, because they are subsidising all of the drugs that didn`t make it onto the market.
