I found out today that somebody has been nicking my tesco vouchers. I logged on to my account on friday to buy my new RAC membership and found I had only got £15 instead of the £55 I expected. Anyway i phoned them and nice man said oh we haven’t linked your accounts properly, I will do it now and check on monday. So I checked today and the total had gone up to 45 quid but still a tenner adrift so i phoned again. very nice patient lady offered to go through all my vouchers and check the codes to see if I had used any. Anyway I told her the first code and she said “oh that was spent on a gym membership” When I had finished laughing, I said well that wasn’t me....ok she said next....so i give her the code and she said oh that was spent on a young person’s rail card.....anyway she checked through my account and 24.50 had been stolen. The e certs to claim the rewards had been sent to an email address that was spookily like mine but not mine. She is refunding the stolen points to my account. I reckon it was an inside thing....someone trolled through the accounts looking for ones that aren’t used often (mine only gets accessed once a year to buy the RAC membership) and having a little dip.
So if you have a tesco points account, keep an eye on it!

that stinks Woofy, utterly stinks. Hope they apologise profusely and offer some sort of compo - not that you're looking for it, but hey, another reason why I don't shop at Tesco
I once lost my Nectar card and yes whoever found it used it to buy grub. Hope they needed it.

I found it very very very difficult getting a new one so hold on tight to yours.
It's not the first time I've read about such thefts on AB. I have no idea how the system works but it sounds like Tesco need to up their security protocols.

To be fair, they were very helpful and yes I will get them all back plus extra for the inconvenience. The stupid thing is that they can find out who it was by linking it up to the gym membership, which will get cancelled, and the railcard.
will they be charged with theft? cos that what it was/is?

that’s why I think it was an inside job....a similar enough email address to mine to be able to claim it as an error if found out and my correct card number was used. You can set up all manner of external precautions but its hard to prevent bent staff :(

dunno alba
Hope they've sorted out the clerical error which was the cause, I found tesco customer services to be polite and helpful. Although as Eccles has said they do need to up their security, your account is one thing but they do have your personal details as well. Thanks for the heads up.
^^ that's obscene, and they did hee-haw about it!! how long til tesco go down the tubes or are bought over?
That happened to me as well.

I got them all back, and I got a call from their fraud department. They knew who had taken them!
I had the same experience as Tuvok. There were lots of people involved. I don't know if they caught the persons who did it.

I lost about $70 pounds of tokens and thought that I would have problems getting them refunded but it was only a day or so until I got them back into my account.
