Anyone else fed up with getting Indian voice from "BT technical department" saying there's a problem with their broadband? When I tell them to stop wasting my time they hang up! (One even said to me "You're stupid"!!!!)

Thankfully, touch wood, I do not have many problems with BT, I do agree that the Indian call centre leaves a lot to be desired, not least of which, you cannot understand what they are saying. They put an order though once that I had not asked for, took ages to sort it out. If they have been rude to you, you should ring BT, try after 4 pm, you normally get the UK call centre, and ask to speak to the complaints department.
...but are they genuine BT?
No, they're not.

Just do what l do and tell them that you don't have a computer.

It's quite obvious they're not really BT but can't BT do something to block them?
I was told that joining the Telephone Preference whatsit, to try and stop all cold calls, doesn't apply to BT!
zebo, if you have a relationship with BT - you are a customer - then TPS can do nothing to stop the calls.

If the calls are scams from outside the UK, TPS can do nothing about them. I suggest you buy either a call blocker phone or a call blocker gadget, diddlydo
