Paypal scam

Has anyone else suffered a paypal scam..??
I checked my online Halifax account today & noticed nearly 500 had disappeared & been paid to someone via paypal. I have never used this account to pay paypal as i always use a credit card. In fact, i haven't used the account for about 5 weeks so have absolutely no idea how or when someone got hold of my details & why, if its been cloned somewhere, its been so long before being fraudulently used.
Halifax has now stopped the card & are investigating.
Speaking to paypal got me nowhere as they couldn't tell me who the recipient was due to "data protection". Unbelievable, considering i was the victim..!! They want me to fax them my statement & details & they'll look into it.
Anyone got any other ideas on what i can do..??

The thing that really baffles me is how someone got my details with the card not even benn out of the house for five weeks or so. Makes me think it's been done electronically as i do ally my banking online. Very puzzling...

I had an invoice from paypal.com, for a load of sex toys, knowing I hadn't bought them, and also I use paypal.co.uk, I got onto the bank first to stop it, I was lucky, hadn't been taken out yet, then got onto the uk one, they said it was a scam one, and should send it to them, which I did, haven't heard back at all.
touch wood it has not happened to me yet but there is a whole website dedicated to scams on paypal: www.paypalsucks.org.uk which may help you.
