Nope, it would have to have an equal(ish) numbers of players from each country so the team wouldn't be a good one......not too many Scottish/Welsh/Irish players would acually get into the England team (Gareth Bale excepted)
Plus IMO football (along with tennis) shouldn't be an olympic sport anyway
indeed that was one of the players pointed out. I confess im not a fan, but maybe we could cobble together a decent enough team, it would only be for the Olympics after all.
I'd have though Beach Volleyball would be your favourite Joeluke...loads of mindless looking bunnies leaping about and falling over... I tend to like the sailing and shooting...and fencing....
well i also agree it shouldn't be in the Olympics, nor beach volleyball, but they are. What next, perhaps tiddlywinks, or scrabble, we would probably do quite well at that.
The Olympics should be the pinnacle of that particular sport's achievement, i.e. track and field events. Sports like football and tennis which have their own pinnacles, The World Cup or Grand Slam events should not be allowed to compete.
I also believe that if you can't time it or measure but award points for artistic accomplishment or whatever it it's not a sport...
