SAME AS SAME AS
Sturridge was so clever he outsmarted himself.
Question Author
Ironic that it was a full England player who missed the penalty.

No doubt Psycho will repeat ''We were not quite ready''.
To be honest, football for a change has really taken a back seat.
I'm not particularly bothered, the proper Olympics have been fantastic!
How can you blame Pearce?
Sturridge tried to be clever and failed..He's a prat...He's not good enough to try that stuff.
Don't look too deeply at the penalty shoot out - we should have won in ninety minutes.

That's why Stuart isn't managing a big club.

Agree totally - 9 well taken penalties and 1 failure. Nobody at fault but Sturridge.
At least our £100,000 signing from Rochdale scored his :-)
how typical for the soccer team to lose AGAIN.

i suppose it was asking too much for them to win and keep up the tremendous night for team GB
What a load of moaners you all are. For every winner there has to be a loser.
Well bl**dy soccer shouldn't be in the Olympics anyway - bunch of overpaid, pooftah hairdressers should sod off & let real sportsmen and women have the limelight for a change.

Well . . . I guess that really told 'em sunny-dave.
This is the football section Dave ;-)
>>>>bunch of overpaid

Yes because Usain Bolt is living on the breadline isn't he.

Anyway Stuart Pearce should not have got the job as manager. He has done nothing a club level and was only kept in the England camp because he seems to be one the FA's favorites.

Why choose Richards as one of the overage players.

If you can only choose 3 overage players make sure all three are creative players who could make or score a goal, not just a right back.
Pearce is one of many who were top players but didn't turn out to be top managers

Gullit, Hoddle, Bryan Robson, Shearer, Tony Adams, Keane, Ince etc
