Nigel Pearson? Clever Or Not?
2 Answers
Following his outburst on Wednesday, when he bullied a young reporter, it seems he was told off by a radio presenter at yesterday's press conference. I think Pearson is doing a fantastic job of taking as much pressure off his players as possible. If he keeps Leicester in the Premier League (and I hope he does), he should be very proud of his seasons work. Your thoughts?

When that player accidently crashed in to him on the touchline a few weeks ago he reacted very badly.
In the interview afterwards he said "I know how to look after myself" as though the player did it on purpose.
I believe he was almost sacked at the time, and I thought he may be sacked yesterday after his recent "ostrich" outburst.
I do have some sympathy with football managers having to do these press conferences, answering the same questions over and over again, but it is important for all managers to keep their cool and not get nasty with the press.
Once the press turn against you they can easily drive a manager out of his job.
I think he may go at the end of the season, even if they stay up.

Leicester have struggled this season and have only recently come to life and given themselves a chance.
The big thing is that nobody is talking about the players or the team, Pearson by his bizarre behaviour has taken the focus off his players and and the next match.
Was this done on purpose? Umm, I don't know he'd have to be some sort of Machiavelli, but it was out of the blue and didn't appear to be provoked - he was definitely under great pressure and showing it, but now just appears to be foolish. Pat Murphy of the BBC really gave him some of his own medicine, accusing of bullying and being paranoid, both charges being proved by his bizarre behaviour.
I hope Leicester stay but it will be despite of Pearson, not because of him.
