That's sad.

The band were a massive success all over the world, and never got the recognition (or the money!) that they deserved.

Indeed he did murray.

There is an excellent book 'When The Screaming Stops' that details the chicanery and abuse that surrounded the band.

Properly paid, they would all be millionaires now.

My daughter was a great Bay City Rollers fan. She had a medley of their songs played at her wedding and all her friends wore tartan scarfs round their wrists while they boogied away.

I'd probably find myself being sued by his estate ! lol.. not a nice man under the charming exterior he exuded..to those he favoured...but vindictive and extremely ruthless to those he didn't..very controlling, sly and manipulative... but he died with a great many spondoolies..was a landlord to many many city properties in the city , as well as the bands business..in addition to trading in "illicit" material !

I was just commenting that I wasn't really a fan, but what terribly sad news. I remember Alan being the quieter one - I think he's in red tartan on that video?

Eric still writing music and has formed several bands..retired for a bit after a serious illness but is making a comeback..mainly in the folksy genre now
