Buying Daffodils

Has anyone else noticed that a bunch of daffodils in Sainsbury's consists of only nine flowers? Is this a new way of making extra profit? I know that there is no law to say that there must be ten in a bunch but I think it is still the norm.

I think anything over several could be considered a bunch, but no more than 12.

No more than 11, that should be. 12 would be considered "a dozen".

Must be if you're counting the daffs in a supermarket!
(There are only eight tulips in the bunch I bought at Waitrose this morning-just counted them- but they were reduced to 50 pence.)

For gingejbee: No, I am thoroughly enjoying myself submitting clients' tax returns but I bought SWMBO a couple of bunches yesterday and when she put them in a vase she noted that she only had 18 whereas those from other supermarkets all had 10 per bunch. It still looks like stealth profiteering to me

12 for £1 in Morrisons. Pushed the boat out and bought 2 bunches

Daffs are very pretty no matter how many but I prefer to see them growing in the garden or in the wild. I won't have them in the house because I loathe the smell of them, it's awful.
