Sorry to bring a few of you back down to earth, guys, but:
"...challenge the top 4." ? "jealousy will get you nowhere." ?
Here's one for you: "Don't count your chickens before they're hatched." OR "Rome wasn't built in a day."
Believe me, I've absolutely nothing against Man City. I can well remember the Colin Bell, Franny Lee, Mike Summerbee etc days when they were a fine, fine team.
But the present side has a long way to go to make up the leeway. It would be fantastic to see the top 4 not only challenged but skittled out of the way by teams like Man City, Villa, Everton, Spurs etc.
And the fact that some oil rich sheiks have almost bottomless pits of money is no guarantee that the top players will be attracted, as I've already pointed out.
Plus, is Mark Hughes the right man to have in charge? I personally have doubts but even Ferguson across the city took a few years to get his act together, so who knows?
Time will tell but money doesn't guarantee success!
