I've said all along we don't have enough quality players to win it,Brazil,Spain,Italy,Holland,Germany and Argentina are all far better than us...Enjoy the ride but we ain't going to win it!

The truth is, no matter what the result had been yesterday, it still wouldn't have been good enough for the England sceptics.
1-0 would have them saying '1-0 against USA! we should be winning 5-0 against teams like them!'

5-0 would have been 'OK, 5-0 but its only the USA, lets not get carried away'

Whatever the result in any England game the septic sceptics will find fault. What is it about so many English people that they are only satisfied when they can moan about the teams performance? Yet, we see someone like Eddie 'the eagle' (remember him?)
as a hero and not a guy who is totally useless at his chosen sport. A hell of a lot of people in this country ENJOY failure they thrive on misery, FACT.

alexanderd, the point is Argentina, who are widely regarded as world beaters, couldn't put more than one in against a vastly inferior team like Nigeria. I think our performance was better than Argentina's yesterday and only a stupid mistake by our keeper prevented us from winning our opening game.

I agree with you entirely just wanted to point out that the Nigerian goalkeeper saved them. We were better than America but lacked a killer touch. I felt sorry for Rooney in the first half, service was terrible, second half was better but still could not deliver the killer ball. Heskey shold have scored instead of blasting straight at the keeper, he wont get a better chance

It makes me laugh people are so dissapointed, we didnt lose!! I think its because people think we should p!ss all over USA where we shouldnt, as they have beaten us before and even knocked us out world cup. Postman pat should have bought Crouch on earlier and god knows why he didnt use hart. But hey that may be a tactic to use them for the bigger games. Green did make a huuuuuuuuuge mistake but he also saved a nasty shot too. Lets hope algeria and slovenia draw too.

alexanderd, yes, totally agree about Heskey. OK, he's a good provider, but in front of goal, crap. I knew he would miss and the trouble is, so did he.

I'm not disappointed in England just realistic.
Argentina have better players than us.Fact.
No wonder the Scots ,Welsh and Northern Irish get brassed off with us, our media build us in to world beaters but realistically we are average.
Rooney is our only "great" player and he had a quiet game.
Get real.
We could win it like Greece won Euro 2004 but if I had a to bet on the miost likely winner I'd put us about 8th.
