What happens to the fines?

I see Fergie has copped another £30,000+ fine from the FA. What happens to this money? Does it go towards the players benevolent fund, charity or to line the coffers of the FA? Just wondered 'cos there has been some hefty fines dished out of late

not sure about the f.a but most clubs usually give to a local charity or hospice etc...
as a wolves fan i know that all player fines go straight to compton hospice.
