Morning punters, some nice chasing today. This is the time of year to have a touch so fingers crossed. Had a little return yesterday on a rare Friday look. Before we went out to do a bit of shopping I had scanned field in the Long Distance hurdle at Newbury. 6 runners and two priced at 40/1 and 33/1 respectively. That is long odds for a nag in any race with 6 runners particularly one with a history of freak results. So I did 4 X 50p rev/fcasts costing £2.00. The two outsiders with the 2 market leaders. The 40/1 shot Beer Goggles won with the 7/4 second fav 2nd. Nigh on £54 back, sweet. Thing is If I had been brave and done the trifecta with them the 33/1 shot came 3rd and the trifecta paid £840 for a pound. A silly 10p perm would have paid £84. History now so lets get em today.
£1.00 Win Acca 4X 40p Trebles. 6 X 40p Doubles. Total Stake £5.00. All 4 would be a very nice £1452.90. Not done E/W today with shortish odds on offer.
2 out of 3 in the trixie/treble - £15 stake, just under £40 return. They've talked this horse 'American' up and no mistake so i've done it with my selection (Whisper) in a rev f/c.
Mullins has only had 2 winners from 113 starters since 2003 in handicap chases over here so i can't back Total Recall. Not even with stolen money. A decision which ought to boost your chances, Togo:-)
Ta Ken. On the line mate. I think looking at the last 50yds the running rail helped mine and yours just wanted to hang left and couldn't. The head on shows Russel just having to check the reins on Whisper which may have cost you the head. Had to have a Guinness after that.
