Begins today and quite rightly dominates the ITV 7 providing 5 races (1st leg 1.50), with Carlisle the supporting act with 2.

A slight change of tack today as regards my Lucky 15. I was going to do 4 x £2 wins, but 2 of my selections are double figure prices, so i've gone for a 20p each way L15 - besides being a fiver cheaper, it makes more sense given the size of the fields.

1.50 Y;  Pilgrim @ 9/1 - 7 places

3.50 C;  Visitant @ 16/1 - 4 places

4.10 Y;  Evaluation @ 14/1 - 6 places

4.45 Y;  Miss Attitude @ 8/1 - 5 places

20p e.w. L15, 2 x £1 e.w. accas. 4 placed (accas) = £205, 4 winners = £45,471.

A couple of e.w. singles on Vintage Clarets (1.50, @ 22/1 - 7 places)) and Yaroogh (2.25, @ 25/1 ).

ITV7; above qualifiers, plus; Ruling Court, Los Angeles, Flowstate and City Of Troy. £1 e.w. acca (forgot to omit the odds-on jolly)

Best of luck, all

Done the ITV7 but after covering the selections with the just in case bet I have stayed at York to have a flutter. Strictly minumum stakes E/W 6.5,4 timers and Trebles. Off out shortly so will have to watch later on catch up if I have any luck. Had a little punt on Sunday at Pontefract as part of the ITV7 and had 3 winners with 4 placed. Had just shy of £110 back. Tidy. Good Luck.

Question Author

Ha, how typical. Sky pay on 7 places, Vintage Clarets finish 8th🙄

Question Author

Some lucky bleeder managed to win the £100K ITV7 jackpot. I suppose the 3 O'Brien winners were easy to find, but the other 4 were all e.w. prices. Well done to whoever the lucky ticket holder is - i just hope it's your average everyday punter and not some professional syndicate.

Day 2 (which cannot possibly be as bad as day 1, from a personal POV) sees Newton Abbot in the supporting role, providing 2 races to add to York's 5.

ITV7; Heaven's Gate*, Arizona Blaze* (was on Maw Lam but nr), Hellstopatthetop**, Blue For You**, Clearance**, Queen Of The Pride* and Karmology*. £1 e.w. acca

* denotes win Yank and acca for a poss £239

** denotes Patent/e.w. Trebles for a poss £1,112.

York placepot; 4-1-5-3-5-2

Keeping the bulk of my powder dry for tonight's Racing League at Newcastle.

Best of luck, all.

Hi Ken

I know nothing about betting

You seem to be very clued up on the subject

How successful are  you ?

Bleedin "opeless" myself, yesterday, as well Ken. Must do better. Maybe last night's wind has blown my missing luck back to me. No heroics today and just sticking to the 7 races. Plit into **** Win Acca, Trebles & Doubles. ###E/W Trixie. Good Luck.

Only just seen your post, Bazile. In answer to your question, like many an average punter, i have my good days and my bad days. Due to my low stakes, i can have 6 bad days and one good day which can often make up for the previous 6.

I wouldn't claim to be 'clued up', as you put it, as any info i glean can be readily found online. I concentrate on handicap races, preferably with double-figure entrants, and use statistics to draw up a shortlist. Then i either do or don't choose the right horse from the shortlist.

2 blank days at York will show you that the big festival meetings are not usually my forte as horses i will have been following in the months prior, will meet in battle at these events.

However, i recouped my York losses, and more, with 3 winners at last night's Racing League meeting at Newcastle. 2 of the winners were in one bet with a placed and an also ran (which let me down for a decent placepot), and the other was in a Patent with 2 placed horses.  All 3 winners had win single stakes on them.

I ended the day just over a ton in pocket to illustrate the point i made above.

To summarise, Baz, gambling is one of my hobbies and if i couldn't afford to carry on doing it, i'd spend more time on the others, particularly learning the guitar.

The motto of all gamblers should be; Only stake what you can EASILY afford to lose.

Alongside the usual 5 from the Knavesmire, the ITV7 includes one race each from HQ and Ffos Las.

Another blank yesterday but, as you can see from my reply to Bazile, i made up for it last night. I had a look at Saffie's rides and (rightly) decided it wouldn't be her night, though i think  in another few strides and she would probably have beaten my 6/1 winner in the 8.15. She just about still leads the jockey table with the final meeting of the Racing League to come - Southwell next Thursday.

Question Author

Not at all enamoured by the meetings at HQ and Ffos Las - so little choice for us Lucky 15 punters.

1.50 York;  Lieber Power @ 8/1 - 5 places

2.45 N'm;  All Agleam @ 9/2

4.10 York;  Power Of Destiny @ 5/1 - 5 places (RF/c with Reach)

5.20 York;  Midnight Gun @ 7/1 - 6 places

4 x £2 wins, 20p L15, 2 x £1 e.w. accas. 4 placed = £42, 4 winners = £4,815

ITV 7; above qualifiers, plus Eagle One*, Gregory*, Shadow Of Light (£2 win) and Asfoora*. £1 e.w. acca.

* denotes Trixie/Treble for a poss £103.

Best of luck, all

On handy as off out shortly. ITV7 done with a couple of flutters. Must do better. Left out the amateur jockeys race from my bets. ****E/W Acca, Trebles & Doubles. ####Win Acca & Trebles.    Good Luck.

Question Author

Once again York provides 5 of the ITV 7 races with Goodwood making up the numbers.

A tad lucky/unlucky last night; 3 out of 4 in my L15 (Silent Flame, La Yakel and Moonstone Boy) with an also ran (fav Warrendale Wagyu 4th in what ended up as a 7 runner h'cap) letting the bet down. Received £62, so once again, a blank at York followed by a half decent return from the evening meets.

Wish that would happen everyday😊

2.25 Y;  Wild Waves @ 6/1 - 6 places

3.35 Y;  Fairbanks @ 14/1 - 8 places

4.10 Y;  Elmonjed @ 4/1 - 6 places

5.20 Y;  Ron O @ 15/2 - 6 places

4 x £2 wins, 20p L15, 2 x £1 e.w. accas. 4 placed = £71, 4 winners = £9,667.

ITV7; above 3 qualifiers, plus; Enfjaar, Anshoda, Sonny Liston & Audience. £1 e.w. acca*

Would normally have omitted the odds-on jolly from the acca, but with just 4 runners in the 2.40 Good, i have omitted Sonny Liston.

Andaleep (5.20York) has been performing well in thew Racing League, finishing a close 2nd on both it's last runs. Done an e.w. punt on it.

Also done a little R Robin and e.w. Treble at Cartmel on Allbetsoff, Tommie Beau and Dr Sanderson for a poss £356.

Best of luck, all.

Don't forget there's a ITV 7 sweepstake today for £5,000.  I've got Relentless Voyager
