If I wanted to view you tubes I would go on the You tube site If I want to ask a question or answer one I should be able to come on here and not HAVE to insert my you tube url which I don't have anyway

I agree with smudge, these things are a smack in the eye; what's wrong with posting links to click on? If dot can't make it work, it will be too complex for me anyuway.

What's hard to fathom about uploading the You Tube link? Instead of the previous method of copying and pasting alone, you just paste the link into the box clearly marked Enter your You Tube Url, then you type a description in the box marked Describe the video, validate it and write any comments you want in the box as normal. Where is the difficulty in that?

I don't see what is wrong with the You Tube option in the box as people have been posting You Tube links for some time now anyway and what difference does it make if we see a still shot instead of a link? Is it any worse than half the crap which gets churned out in B&S at the best of times? I much prefer that to the who wants to sleep with which ABer, I'm bored, cheer me up and what colour undies have you got on type of posts. I don't know why some people get so rattled by change. It's the dynamics of the site and it's fluid - we all know that. Some changes we like, some we don't but at the end of the day, AB will continue to rattle on even after we all leave, so we can like it or lump it. The only problems which they may encounter as far as I can see is the display of unsavoury material (bearing in mind that it IS a family site - regardless of how some people try to dispute that) and/or copyright infringement but I trust that the ED has taken that into consideration. (I hope!)

Enigma I was doing the whole thing correctly, which was what was so annoying, I just kept getting link not validated, but then it turns out there are a number of You Tube sites and the one I use, uk.you tube.co.uk is the same content as youtube.com but it has different urls and so the one we have on this site have to be youtube.com. It was very annoying as i knew I was doing the actual link thing correcdtly, but sorted now!

I know what you mean, enigma, but I somehow find a page harder to read if it's got large video screens down it like this. I don't mind change, I'm prepared to judge it on how it works; but I find this all rather distracting. Perhaps I'm just getting past it; but I wonder what this has to do with a Q&A site?
