England/Scotlan sports teams

Why is that when England win they are somehow unworthy and Scotland are in someway hard done by and therefore singled out for praise. If England lose they get berated as rubbish if they win their opponenets get praised and England still get berated as rubbish? So a team that plays below par but still manages to win against one that has never got past the knockout stages despite having chances against both Argentina and England and they fail but It's England that gets attacked. Scottish sympathisers please explain your reasoning.

Can you remember the way the English football team exited the last world cup against Germany? I've never seen such lack of heart & passion from a national team ever!
I posted the following on another thread;
"...Scotland had the opportunity to kill off Argentina last week and England on Saturday and they did neither. As a rule in Rugby, class and ability usually prevails, and it did so on Saturday.
They simply weren't good enough.
England were very mediocre on Saturday and still they won - so far from Scotland going home with their heads held high, I think they should be going home knowing they have failed"
The idea that Scotland play with passion and England doesn't always grates on my nerves, because it simply is not true - if that were the case England wouldn't have ground out the result they did on Saturday.

I don't think you can ever accuse a rugby team of playing without passion, but I do think for large spells of the game Scotland out fought and out thought us, they played relatively well to their strengths i.e. Paterson's and Parks' boots and nullified our threats well, the fact we barely sore anything of Ashton or Foden in an attacking sense says a lot and they were unlicky not to score, think it was Danielli. England are the better team and Scotland matches us for most of it, that merits some credit. Just as Wales deserved credit when the very nearly beat the Saffers!
so the antics of 30 men represent those of 50 odd million people!?!
And if you believe everyone there / directly associated with Mike Tindall's 'embrace with mystery blonde' as opposed to the sensationalist media then at least the whole of England could be called 'halmless folk that speak to friends on a night out'!
Nobody's supporting Ashton, Hartley and Haskell for their antics, but they aren't bothered when a few lads have a few beers and one talks to a woman who isn't his wife.

The thing is that England has always been the dominant country, history and the rest. Scotland are the country that have the big chip, then Ireland I think the Welsh just wander along in Celtic brotherhood.
So its seen as taking the English down a peg or two. I noted when the BBC gave a report it was by a Scotsman, there has never been an unbiased scotsman when it comes to the English.
The thing I always find funny is when the Scots beat the English, theres this huge party of the we beat the Sassanachs variety etc etc,
When the English beat the Scots they go home. Whilst the Scots bemoan thier bad luck and have a party becasue they were unlucky not to beat the Sassanachs. A nation of Arsene Wengers
It appears it matters far more to these nations than it does to the English.

I said 'so what' because I fail to see how Tindal's fumble or some of the England players having a night on the town is relevant to this post.
Are we only allowed to support our national team if they are tucked up in bed at 8pm having had their fill of Horlicks or Ovaltine and all have the morals of the Dalai Lama?
Well forgive me, but I don't look to the England rugby team to be our moral leaders and neither do I need them to be or expect them to be - I expect them to show grit and passion and the determination to win, and more often than not they deliver.
If some of their hijinxs upset the sensibilities of those of a sensitive nature, well then perhaps they should restrict their support to Crown Green Bowls.
