Why do Italy play in blue when their national flag is green, white and red? I'm sure most teams play in their flag colours and just wondered why they didn't.

Thanks. I knew one of you would assist.
Because they score so rarely they are always feeling blue.
Germany don't play in the colours of their flag either if it comes to it (nor Netherlands, Northern Ireland, or even Spain really if you consider they play in red and blue not red and yellow.
