i was asked the following question.
if a goalkeeper kicks a free kick in his penalty area and it goes into his own net what is the decision?

Defianatly an own goal.
Own goal, it does not have to touch another player.

A corner-kick is awarded to the opposite side.
Curly's wig is right. The team getting a free kick should be perceived as gaining a benefit from it, so if the ball has not touched another player it cannot be a goal.
it's a corner, if any player kicks a free kick directly into his own net it's a corner. LAW 13 Free kicks.
He gets to play for England for life.
