shame that they can't have the closing ceremony after the Paralympics.
After all they are just as committed to their sports, work as hard if not harder. Sundays closing ceremony will be mostly music according to sneak previews, let's hope that Sir Paul isn't rolled out again, or Elton, that is a bridge too far.

i'm told that the entire ceremony will be a celebration of british music throughout the decades.

as i'm up at 0430 for early shifts next week, i will need to go to bed early sunday, so,i cannot watch it -- i'll have to record it.

Apparently there is a very strong rumour that Macca is on the list, along with, yes, THE SPICE GIRLS!!!

Think some of you miss the point. This ceremony is going to be seen by millions if not billions. The people abroad want to see the people they know, the acts that have crossed the world and all of the above qualify. The Spice girls in the 90's were not just a global act, they were THE global act. The only ones missing are Bowie and Oasis.

I don't know who is actualy appearing, but don't expect acclaim if its JessieJ and Black Lace.

Opening ceremony will include Queen, Take That, Annie Lennox, George Michael, Ray Davies, The Pet Shop Boys and Madness. Emeli Sande is due to open the show and Kaiser Chiefs, Elbow, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah and Jessie J will all play. One of the 'highlights' of the evening - former drug and sex addict and Sachgate 'abuser' Russell Brand will sing Pretty Vacant - somewhat appropriate eh.

I think they will use video/sound footage of Freddie with the others playing live. It can work well- wasn't there an Elvis concert done successfully in this way?
