Please not Andy Murray
Personally, Ben Ainslie, had he been a rower he would have won it long since, he has performed consistantly in his sport over many years. His battle with Robert Scheidt in the last race is one of the most memorable sporting events I can think of.

You're not wrong zebo - Ben Ainslie deserves to be up there with the best of them.
Very hard to pick a winner this year I think. Any one of six would do for me. Here's the latest odds.

Ben Ainslie, but his sport is considered minor.....so Mo Farah or Jessica for top slot.
Jessica Ennis team Yorkshire. Pretty girl, intelligent ,always happy and willin to help
Jessica Ennis or David Weir for me.
I'd go for the Sideburned one myself! It's a strong field though, any of them would be worthy. Vettel for the overseas one though.

Not alot of support for Angry Andy then?
Plenty of support for Andy from me!
David Weir for me .......awesome athlete. 6 Paralympic golds, 6 IPC World Championship golds, and 5 times winner of the London Marathon.
As a Yorkshire gal, I would still give it to Brad. I love athletics and Jess really came good. But to win the TdeF is a brilliant achievement.
Granted, winning the Tour De France is a great achievement but getting knocked off your bike pulling out of an Esso garage kinda dampens it a bit.

Andy Murray will probably win it, the ones with the least personality usually do
Didn't Nigel Mansell win it one year.............defo no personalty.
Ben Ainslie for me, although I think it unlikely to happen.
Rory McIlroy for me. A fantastic golfer, modest and grounded. A great example for youngsters.
Question Author
I agree about Rory and any other year he'd be favourite. But with the London games, he'll be in the shadows I fear. Maybe next year once he's won the British Open he'll be our choice!
I'd vote for Mo Farah out of loyalty to my own sport, or Rory McIlroy out of loyalty to country :-) . I'd also like to see Andy Murray win, just to spite all the people who don't like him just because he doesn't put on a false persona.

But Bradley Wiggins will surely win. And that will also be terrific.
Any one of those would be a good choice, but my preference is Bradley Wiggins...
Anyone but Murray.
