Although I am an Atheist I was lucky enough to visit Jerusalem last year. I saw the room where the last supper was held, the Garden of Gethsemane, and the Wailing Wall amongst other sites.

I agree even though I know the money to pay for all those wonderful buildings , churches , cathedrals and land came from selling for centuries , worthless indulgencies to the fearful populous.

You buy a lottery with little hope but some chance, they bought indulgences with lots of hope and absolutely no chance. The moral being your local bookie has higher moral standards than the church.
