Stunning quali session by Hamilton - way out in front. Button not able to find his usual wet-track speed & was in 12th.

The Red Bulls were up to speed at last - but it was 'dampish going on wet' - the weather for the race is currently forecast as 'probably dry and warm', so I'd hope to see Hamilton & Rosberg slugging it out again. About time the Williams cars stopped promising and started delivering.

Let's hope for Bahrain part 2

brrrm brrrm (but quite quietly)
I have to spend the whole of tomorrow avoiding Sky News on my IPad and now on here too????????

Be careful, be very careful s-d.
Great times (considering the weather conditions ! ) Looking forward to it
Hypothetical question: if the Mercedes continue to dominate for the rest of the season, will it be as boring as when Vettel just kept winning at a canter?

I hope people will stick to this thread, chrissa - that way no spoilers will show anywhere else.

Jim - at least there are no team orders at Mercedes :)
I don't think so, Jim. The last GP was brilliant with many exciting overtaking manoeuvres. Apart from the lack of Noise, I think this years will be better than last year's Championship.
Fingers crossed, s-d.
I only listened to the Bahrain one and the commentators certainly made it sound exciting. I do hope that things stay that way. still, if Hamilton wins every time he doesn't retire or Rosberg sneaks past him then it might get a bit predictable over the course of a season.

Something of a procession (after the drama of the first couple of corners) - but interesting to see Vettel yet again out-driven by Ricciardo.

Williams still flattering to deceive and Maclaren badly off the pace, given that they've got the Merc engines too.

A few quid on Hulkenberg being champion at some point in the next 5 years would seem a decent punt?
It was a bit wasn't it? Never mind, nice to see Hamilton where he belongs.

I was thinking that half the reason Bahrain was so exciting was because of the safety car that forced Hamilton and Rosberg close together. Before that it was another case of Hamilton building up a comfortable margin. He really is dominating in these early stages.

Nice to see Vettel struggling too...
I have to say half the pleasure of watching this one was seeing Vettel slipping down the pack and getting grumpy coz he's not having it his own way this year. Hamilton can win a few more I won't get bored for quite a while and let's face it he's British he's not going to have the luck to win all the rest of the races.
Not as exciting as the last one but well done to Hamilton.
