Shadow On Pitch ?

What is the shadow thats seen on the pitch during the world cup games, some sort of over-head camera perhaps ?

Yes that's what it is, on a wire going over the pitch.

Thanks dunitall, I guessed thats what it was but it seems to be able to move in every direction, so hows that possible, if its on a wire going over the pitch ?

Chip, not sure maybe they have more than one camera and can use them for different areas, but I do know the shadow is a camera, I will have to watch more closely next match to see where the shadows are.

I do not know but it seems to me a camera could travel across the pitch on a wire, whilst the wire could be made to move up and down the pitch if it was supported by cables running down each side.
