Not sure if this has already been posted as I have been away from home but huge congratulations of Andy and Jamie Murray on their fantastic doubles win yesterday.

BBC: Great Britain are one win from a first Davis Cup title in 79 years following Andy and Jamie Murray's doubles victory against Belgium.

The Scottish brothers beat Steve Darcis and David Goffin 6-4 4-6 6-3 6-2 to put the visitors 2-1 up in Ghent.

All the best for today Andy.

So presumably they didn't bother with the fifth game?
I meant to say fifth match.
The winning team is the first to win 3 matches - as GB had already done that, there was no point in playing the fifth match.
No, they didn't play the fifth match, DSJ. I imagine there was too much excitement and wanting to celebrate for people to settle down and watch would have been just an exhibition match between two 100 ish ranked players.
OK. Thank you.
It depends on the score in the match, although it wasn't required for Sunday's final, see link for the technical stuff

I didn't know that, puzzlemaniac. So if we'd won by Goffin retiring through injury, say, the lower ranked players would have to put on an exhibition even though no one would have cared about the outcome. I suppose the crowd have to feel they've got their money's worth by watching some tennis.
