I was at a quiz last night and there was a disagreement with the answer. The question was, if a player scores from the halfway line in netball, how many points do they get. The answer, if I remember correctly was three. The disagreement came when someone said you can only score when in the semi-circle.
So, who is correct?
You're welcome - but I don't understand the 'points' comment either. Only two people can score - a goal shooter and a goal attack - and one goal equals one point.
Oh dear, I'm a mere male and the intricacies of the game defeat me I'm afraid.
Ah now there's the thing, the person asking the question was a man and the disagreerers(?) were men also, and all of an age, if you know what I mean ;)
Thanks again.
Naomi, in my younger days, I was a PE/Games teacher. Netball and basketball were both on the curriculum. I still have my original Acme Thunderer whistle.
The question would have been fine, except he got the name of the game wrong. Bit like Eric Morcambe with Andre Previn. Playing the right piano notes but not necessarily in the right order. :o)
Oh that's hiarious. I'll have a word with him the next time I see him.
In his defence (although I wont allow him any) he is 'of an age' and does it just for fun.
Now let me see, do I tell him in front of everybody or just have a quiet word.
Suggestions please!!
I couldn't advise. Depends how well you know him - and if he's good at laughing at himself. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't mind everyone knowing. In fact I'd tell them myself. What a hoot! :o)
